Ask away, that's what we're here for! : ) How do I change the default template or look instead of the one installed by default? I see the screenshots of 2 other options. That's right, Article Manager comes with 3 template sets. In the Article Manager Zip file there should be three files named: template_set1_maple.zip, template_set2_arctic.zip, template_set3_dusk.zip. All you need to do is unzip one of these files and upload the files into your templates folder. Note, each zip has a "readme.txt" file. Be sure to read that because it may have some additional instructions. How or were do I go to change the footer information that is included in the bottom of every article? The template files used to publish the article pages are stored in /templates/article/. Typically there is one called "default.html" for your regular articles and one called "default_printer.html" for your "printer version" pages. You can modify the "Copyright (C) 2002 Yoursite" footer on these pages. How do I add my sites name (DataDork.com) back to the top of the page instead of "Front Page" that is displayed now when visitors hit my site. If you main to change the name of the "front page" index page that lists the top articles from ALL categories you can do that in the admin program under Setup Options -> Server -> Publish Settings. Just edit the field called "Global Category Name" and change it to whatever you like. If you want to change the text at the top of the pages to say something other than "YourSite.com" you need to edit that in a number of templates. Here's the list: /templates/article/default.html /templates/article/default_printer.html /templates/index/default.html /templates/search/advanced_search.html /templates/search/search_results.html A lot of templates to edit I know! Having more templates gives you much more control of how you want individual sections, articles and categories to look but can make for a little more work when all you need to make is a small change. One of the things I do when editing templates is edit them on my local computer and view each template file in the various folders in my local browser to make sure I've got everything. You don't see all the included menus and files but you can usually get a pretty good feel for how things will look. Also, when making any template changes, be sure to take a backup of your existing templates first (in case you make any mistakes) and remember to click "Publish All" under "Setup Options" after you've uploaded the new templates. So Article Manager can re-publish it's generated HTML files. Hope that helps! Dave Edis - Senior Developer interactivetools.com
