Hiding Fields in whilst editing article as trusted writer
Can't Post
We would like to "show" our trusted writers some (eg. title, categ., text) of the many available fields of our article, whilst they post or edit an article. The problem is , our article.dat contains many other fields, which are only needed by the admin or the editor. In order not to confuse trusted writers with these additional fields, we would like to make them "invisible" when the enter/edit the article. We looked (and searched in this forum) and found a possible way could be using the _writer_menus.html template and change it, so it would display only a limeted number of fields. However the _writer_menus.html is assigned to "Writers" and NOT to "Trusted Writers". On the other hand, we can not just set our writers down to "Writers" level, as we want them to be able to edit their own articles. This results in the following questions: Is it possible to assign the _writer_menus.html template to "Trusted Writers" ? or Is it possible to allow "Writers" to edit their own posts? or Is it possible to change the _art_menus.html template in a way that it hide's certain fields from displaying for Trusted Writers (e.g. with an IF clause in the template... if "trusted writer" hide field )? Sorry for asking 3 question in one post , but as you see they are basically just one question looking at three different possible solutions. Thanks for any help we can get.
