Hi Chris,
I actually posted something similar to this earlier today but here it is again. :)
With Article Manager you can use a different template design for each of your categories. Here's how this is done:
1. The Front Page index template must always be titled default.html. This file resides in the /templates/index/ folder.
2. Make an exact copy of the /index/default.html template file and name it category_1.html. Save this file in the /templates/index/ folder.
3. In the Article Manager admin area go to the "Category Editor" and select "modify" for one of your categories. Under "Category Templates", for the "Category Index Page" drop down select the "category_1.html" template file.
4. Now modify either your /index/default.html file or your /index/category_1.html file to the design you want and to include the details you want (e.g article headline, summary, and date in one category and article headline only or image only in another).
5. You can repeat these 4 steps for each of your categories.
6. Once done you can republish all of your articles and index files by going to the "Setup Options" and clicking the "publish all" button. This will allow your old articles and index to adopt the new template changes.
7. Your category indexes will now have a different design then that of your front page.
