Article Type Can't Post

Hi,

How can I turn off certain article types? The choice is confusing some guests, and there is not a help link connected with this feature.

It would be nice to be able to just have full article for guests.

Everything else is clear on the page, it is just this bit that cofuses :(

Any thoughts,

Ian

Hi canvey,

If you go into 'Setup Options', then under the 'Editor Settings' heading look for 'Advanced Article Types'. Un-check the tick box next to ' Allow Article Types'

;-)

Hi,

Discovered this late last night - well 3am this morning:)

I guess that if I want to publish anything else, I will have to re-enable the feature, publish and then disable it. Will this cause any problems?

It is a shame these sort of settings cannot be done a user level.

Ian.

Hmm, good point. I suppose it should work, haven't tried it myself though ;-)

You'll want to double check this on your end. But from my experiments over here it looks like if you turn off "Advanced Article Types" and then go to edit an article that is set to one of the advanced types (anything other than Full Article) it will still show the advanced type selections.

So editing articles you've created previously shouldn't be a problem, but you will have to turn the setting on and off if you want to be able to create advanced types yourself but not allow other users to do it.
