Hi Guys, I thought I’d just tell you a bit about my latest project http://www.angourieresort.com.au/invest The client wanted a “Flash site” rather than a standard site or one with Flash areas – and I think I’ve succeeded. There are 3 key aspects to the site, all running from a single install of Article Manager utilising multiple RSS Feed templates. Various information pages on the site, such as the “WELCOME” text, are generated from individual articles. Then, publishcron is used to produce various XML files, capturing Title and Content which is then “sucked” into the Flash site to become the various page content. The FACTS page is an index page, and links to multiple articles – this time the index page is generated to XML and incorporated into the flash. The flash file then reads the XML to populate the page, and the $details_link$ opens up the individual articles in HTML. Finally – and the trickiest part is the Interactive Master Plan. Each apartment / villa is a unique article in the PRODUCTS category. The Masterplan reads the generated XML file which tells flash the xy co-ordinates to display a status (sold, available, hold) icon. When the icon is clicked by the user, the flash files pulls in summary details (fields) from the XML and displays them in the flash. When the user then clicks for “More Information”, the $details_link$ opens a HTML article. Love to hear your thoughts & comments, and any ways you think things could be improved.
