AM Version 2 Update? Can't Post

Can we get a progress report about AM 2.0, i.e. features, delivery date, etc?

Thanks!

Well, today I'm working on a "forgot your password" password reminder, and maybe if I get time "user preferences".

Dlo is working on a new search engine that will, hopefully, let you search by any field and be much more configurable (more like Realty Manager's search engine).

And Chris is working on the language editor that lets you switch and modify the languages used in the interface.

We're also intermittently working on a new demo server and I'm hoping to add insert/modify table support and context menus in the wysiwyg editor.

Cool - if you need any beta testers you know where to ask ;)

Keep up the good work, and version 2 will be fine next week - no need to rush it for this weekSly

Hmm, that's strange, nobody seems to be working on the mySQL features. I wonder what that could mean? ;-)

I can see it now - thousands of AM users holding up boards chanting 'We want MySQL' outside the ofices of IT Sly

dave,

while you are working on the password-functions, how about implementing user-defined passwords?!

would be a really important security-feature.

I can imagine, it's pretty cool to see them in action. D'oh, I just gave another hint. ;-)

That's in there, as well as other end user edittable fields. In addition, passwords won't be stored as text anymore, we'll store then as a hash of the original password. So even if someone was able to access your user database, they still wouldn't be able to get the passwords. The admin user will always be able to reset passwords though.

cool!Smile

although the admin will be able to reset the password, he hopefully won't be able to see the userdefined password(s)?!

looking very much forward to 2.0!

As you know, we never announce release dates for our software. That said, I think we'll use this thread to keep you all up to speed on the pieces that we're working on. We'll probably also release a full list of proposed features once that's finalized.

We'll only know the release date after the fact. ;-)
