5K Article Limit Can't Post

We've had Article Manager running for less than 2 months and already have over 1000 articles published. I'm sure we'll reach the 5K limit within months. What do you recommend we do to keep going then?

Hi Jerry,

If the number of articles you have is growing quite large, the best solution is to start archiving your older articles. You can create searchable article archives based on article category and date range.

To do this, go into the Setup Options and select the Archive tab. Create a article archive by selecting the date range and one or more categories to include in that archive.

Select the new archive radio button and enter a archive name. Next click the Move button. The following screen will give you a list of all the articles you have selected to archive. Click yes to archive or no to change your mind.

You can always move archived articles back into "Current Article".

All archived articles can be found by using the advanced search page and selecting from the article set drop down list.

Here is a link for more info about the Archive feature: http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/doc.cgi?/articlemanager/admin/doc_page59.html

I hope that helps.

Sorry to butt in... Hopefully this will help!

But MySQL will basically make it unlimited in size and number of articles. The limits will be hardware related and not software related at that point.

I have a link directory with over 48000 links in it and it is fast as lightning! As well, I know of a few people with over 100000 links using detailed pages for each link with not one problem related to MySQL and speed.

Hope that helps!Cool

Hi,

Just to follow-up: with SQL database, handling 5K articles won't be a problem.
