discuss story link not active without republish Can't Post

I'm working with to get goforum running properly with AM on my site however my discuss this story links never work until I do a republish all. The link is there but I get a page error when I click it. After I do a republish all it works fine. This happens even with a new article. Is this normal? If so is there a work around.

Thanks

CCUnet

Hi CCUnet,

Thanks for posting.

That doesn't sound like the way that the goforum link should normally work. What it should do is add the link to the forum that you specify, and either create a new thread when you click that link, or link to the existing thread for that aricle.

I'm not really sure why that would happen, but I would start by re-installing the goforum.cgi script.

Perhaps there is another user out there that has run into this problem that can lend a hand?

I hope that helps Smile

Cliff,

I am working with Gossamer threads right now to get it working with their forumsoftware (which you also use). However the problem I mentioned is on the article index page for the links to the forum here http://www.mychristianweb.com/news doesn't ever work until I re-publish all after submitting an article. This is page is a page built by article manager not the forum.

Any ideas

CCUnet

Hi CCUnet.

Thanks for the update!

I am not exactly sure either why you would have to re-publish after adding a new article just to get the goforum script running. Had you got a change to reinstall the script like Cliff had mentioned? Or had you heard back from Gossamer Threads?

Just keep us up to date Smile.

Re: [Cliff] discuss story link not active without republish [In reply to] Can't Post

Could I get more information on this goforum.cgi script? I have a community website www.ShawDC.com, but I am having trouble getting people to know when new content is up. We are all volunteer, and so it can't be daily, sometimes weekly, but more often monthly. It would terrific if we could have weekly or monthly digests going out to regular readers telling what new content is availble (kind of like a list-serve digest). Maybe even an ocassional special announcement digest for time sensitive community issues. Would goforum help in any of these areas?
