Re: [Maurice] comment system [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Maurice,

You may be able to use the free Goforum add-on for Article Manager. This add-on provides your site visitors with a way to comment on your Article Manager articles by integrating it with your existing forum (if you have one).

It automatically checks to see if a new thread has been created about that article. If it has, it redirects the user to that thread. If it hasn't, it automatically creates one, and then redirects the user there.

Goforum 1.09 (which requires Article Manager 1.28 or later) supports:

* discus (and discus pro)
* dcforum
* Gossamer Forum
* Ikonboard
* ubbclassic
* ubbthreads
* vBulletin
* Invision Board
* phpBB
* YABBSE

If you would like a copy to try out, just send us an email to support@interactivetools.com and we can send you a copy.

Goforum is not working with Vbulletin 3.0, 3.0.1 (stable version).

More about a comment system for AM ?

I know. Just to be clear. I just said Vbulletin 3 Gold (stable, current version) is not working with GoForum. I tested it and it's not working.

Only the old vbullertin 2.3x is working with goForum. I used that.

Donna told that "Yes, the current version of VBulletin (version 2) is supported by GoForum. However, at this time we have no plans to upgrade GoForum in the immediate future to support any future or beta versions. "

Hi cellophane,

Just to be clear -- when I wrote that, vBulletin 3 was still in beta and vBulletin 2 was the current, stable version. That said, we still don't have any plans to update GoForum in the immediate future, so it will only work with the version it was designed for -- which is version 2.

I hope this helps clear things up. :)

Donna

Hello, It says GoForum will work with Discuss Pro, which I have been using since 2000. I would like to know if what you mean is that GoForum will "import" all my current Discus Pro discussions and at the same time it will create new discussions for my new articles?

If that is so, could you please send me a copy to correos@deguate.com!

Thx :)

Hi svsanchez.

Thanks for posting!

Another member of our community has actually been keeping our GoForum script up to date so I think you’ll want to get in touch with Michael on his website here:

http://amscripts.com/amaddons/#goforum

The one thing I noticed though is that Discuss Pro isn’t on the compatibility list anymore. Perhaps you can ask Michael what the options are with that forum.

Does this help? Let me know if you have anymore questions Smile.
