Discuss This Article feature suggestion Can't Post

Hiya,

IS it possible to put a limit on the creation of new threads if the article is older than xx days? I am getting a few "funny" members on my site go to old stories, and clicking on "Discuss this", just to laugh about how old the news items are on the site Unsure

A 7 day limit would be ideal for me...

Thanks Laugh

Also, and probably a lot quicker to add, how can I add the date that the article was originally published on?

Thanks Smile

Also perhaps a link back to the original article, and the ability to out into bold or a different font the word 'Discussion:'

Dave has already answered the link one here: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=1647#1647

Also, to turn the word "discussion" to bold, just add the tags to the word in goforum.cgi.

Seems everyone is at it now - I've had to disable this feature until this problem is resolved Mad

Could it be search engine spiders causing this to happen? Or is it definately silly members trying to ruin our forums?

Either way, a time-limit on this add-on would resolve it...

Thanks

Hi,

Press releases should include the following when published:
Location - Date - Then on to the body of the press release.

This is standard formatting for news releases. Example:
Winston-Salem, N.C., September 12, 2002-The 2002 AHDRA National points series moved another step closer to “all the marbles” after completing the Northwest Nationals presented by Latus Harley-Davidson in Woodburn, Oregon on September 7th & 8th.

Hope that helps!

Cool
Brian
