Advice sought? Can't Post

Hello

We have just got a new client who we will be building a site for using AM. They have enquired about having a discussion board/forum included with the site. OK, this is where i'm stuck. Which ones would you recomend and how much do they cost? Something that is easy to install and operate and customise would be good as i've never done this sort of thing before! The host will run Apache if that makes a difference.

My other question regards moderators of the site. surely there can be legal implications if someone post something deflamatory up there so is there any way to combat prevent this. Sorry if i'm being a bit naive but i am!

By the way, i like this message board.

many thanks

Hi there!

Thanks for your post. :)

Well, these forums (which we're pretty fond of) run Gossamer Forums from Gossamer Threads.

If you're building the site with Article Manager and you want the two to be integrated to some extent, we have an add-on that adds a "discuss this story" link to each article. You can find it here:

The latest version of GoForum supports the following forums:

discus
dcforum
Gossamer Forum
Ikonboard
ubbclassic
ubbthreads
vBulletin
Invision Board
phpBB
YABBSE

As you can see, you've got quite the selection. :)

As far as legal implications... I'm not a lawyer, so I don't really know what the options are. Here at interactivetools.com, we read each and every post that comes through, so it's not a real worry here. If this is a concern for you, you might want to do some research as to what other forum administrators have done.

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Donna
