Default summary/content format

These options allow you to specify default formats for new records.
Text -
plain text mode - selecting <enter> will add line breaks.
HTML - html can be added directly to content. Line breaks won't be added by selecting enter.
WYSIWYG - this mode enables the WYSIWYG editor which offers the user a great deal of format control.

New articles default to
These options allow you to specify defaults if new records will default to being hidden or visible.

SSI Tag Parsing
If your server supports Server Side Includes (SSIs), you can insert special tags in your fields to load in other files. Unfortunately, this is also a security risk as some of these server commands can do dangerous things. We suggest if you are allowing any other users into the program, that you leave this option disabled. With the option disabled, SSIs will be removed from any input to the program, and users with access to News Manager (but not administrator access) will not be able to stage SSI attacks.

Publish Settings

Publish Dir
This specifies where News Manager will save its published files.

Full Index filename
Default base filename
Default file extension
These options allow you to specify how published pages are named on your website.

Add meta generator tag?

Re-publish all files
Clicking the "Publish All" button will re-publish all your publish pages.

Upload Settings

Max file size for uploads
Accepted upload extensions
Max image size for uploads
You can place limits on the file size, height, and width of images that you and your users can upload. You may also specify a list of file extensions which are allowed to be uploaded. Any uploads which do not conform to these rules will not be accepted by the program. Non-image upload extensions ignore the height and width restrictions.

Force published image size to
Align images to
These options allow you to specify the alignment of the uploaded image in your news article. You can also specify a forced height and/or width. Keep in mind that specifying either height or width will allow an image to scale, but maintain its proportions; if you specify both, some images could be distorted.
