Setting Up TemplatesOnce you've finished installing the software the next step is to choose a template set. Each template set is stored in its own directory. For example, the Simple Template Set can be found in the /simple directory. When you've decided which template set to use, simply upload the files within the directory into your website's root directory (often named /htdocs or /www) or upload the template set's directory and all of its files into to your website's root directory. For example, if you decide to use the Simple Template Set, you can upload the files found within the /simple directory into your website's root directory or upload the /simple directory and all of the files within it into your website's root directory. Once uploaded you could view your website's homepage by visiting either http://www.yourwebsite.com/index.php or http://www.yourwebsite.com/simple/index.php. Customizing the TemplatesNow that the installation is complete, you can begin customizing the templates to include your company name, information, or begin changing design elements. The templates are coded in HTML and PHP. You can customize your templates with your own HTML, JavaScript, PHP code, and images. Your templates include PHP code specifically designed to output the data you've input into the content management system. When customizing your templates you'll want to make sure you back up your templates regularly and test often to ensure they still work. |
