My Placeholders

With My Placeholders, you can create custom placeholders that will ouput a snippet of text or code anywhere on your site. For example, add a copyright to any page simply by adding my.copyright wherever you want it to appear. The text output by this code is easily customizable, so at any time you can change 2006 to 2007 and so on. Even control your entire header or footer, or any other static content on the site.

To modify My Placeholders, click "Admin", and choose "My Placeholders".

To create a new placeholder, enter the name that you'd like to use into the Placeholder Name field, then enter what you want to be displayed on the published page into the Placeholder Value.

Each placeholder will have its own field like this:

My Placeholders

You can have as many My.Placeholders as you'd like -- if you run out, simply use the "Click here to add more rows" button at the bottom to create more placeholders. Click "Remove" on any that you no longer need.

Once you have your placeholders setup, take note of the Placeholder Name. For example, if you entered "coyright" into the Placeholder Name field, your placeholder will be my.copyright.

Now, you can edit your templates and enter this anywhere on your site that you'd like it to appear. My.Placeholders are global placeholders and can be used anywhere in any template.
