Publishing Rules
The default Publishing Rules are setup to create a basic layout for your site. You'll have a category list appearing on the left side of your page, the article content, or article lists appearing in the middle and the headlines appearing on the right side. By default there will be 15 publishing rules. This table goes over what each of the default Publish Rules does:
Publish Rule | Description | |
| Articles for Grouped Headlines (included by Grouped Headlines) | This rule will be creating one list of the most recent articles for each category. These lists will be included by the files created with Grouped Headlines. | |
| Category Headlines (one for each category) | This rule will be creating one list of the most recent articles for each category. These lists will appear on your individual article pages. | |
| Category Indexes (the main page for each category) | This rule is going to create one index page for each of your categories. | |
| Global Headlines (from all categories) | This rule will create one list of all the most recent articles in your entire system. | |
| Global Index (the site "home page") | This rule will create your site's Home Page. | |
| Global RSS Feed (article syndication through RSS) | This rule creates an RSS feed for your entire site. | |
| Article Pages (main article detail pages) | This rule will create a single page for each of your articles. | |
| Article Printer Pages (printer-friendly versions of each article) | This rule will create a printer friendly page for each of your articles. | |
| Category Breadcrumbs (one for each category) | This publish rule creates a category breadcumb for each of your categories. | |
| Category Menus (current category highlighted) | This rule will create a category list menu for each category with the current category highlited. | |
| Global Menu (default menu) | This rule will create one main category list for your site with out any categories highlighted. | |
| Grouped Headlines (grouped by category) | This rule will create a list of your top level categories and then include the approriate list of files created by Articles for Grouped Headlines. The resulting files will then be included onto your global index page and each category index page to form the headlines list you see on the right side of your site. | |
| Header (standard header for all pages) | This rule will create one file that will be included as the header for all your pages. | |
| Search Box (a basic search box) | This rule creates a basic search box (keyword and category) that gets included onto all your pages. | |
| Style Sheet (a common style sheet for the published pages) | This rule creates a stylesheet used by all your pages. | |
