| Syndicated Content
Syndicated content is a feature new to Article Manager version 1.05. If you have an earlier version of Article Manager, you'll need to update the program to take advantage of this feature. You can find your version information on the bottom of the General page of the Setup Options.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure that the Publish URL and the Upload URL in the Setup Options are both absolute URLs. Your syndicated content will not display, or will not link properly, on other sites if you use a relatives URL. An absolute URL looks like this: http://www.yoursite.com/artman/publish/
By enabling syndicated content, your visitors will be able to use a program to create a webfeed and add it to their site. This webfeed will pull headlines, dates, and summaries of articles off your site and display them on your visitor's site. Please note that Image Placeholders are ignored when summaries are displayed in webfeeds.
To be able to offer this service to your visitors, you'll need to do the following:
1. Firstly, you'll need to begin publishing Syndicated Content: click on the Server tab within Setup Options and turn on the checkbox for Syndicated Content (under Publish Settings). Click the "Publish All" button to update your site.
2. Now, you'll need to enable the Webfeed Generator: click on the General tab within Setup Options and turn on the checkbox for the Webfeed Generator (under Editor Settings). Save your changes.
3. Try out the Webfeed Generator. You can find it in the same directory as Article Manager's admin.cgi program. The program is called syndicate.cgi
4. Finally, you'll probably want to add a link from your site to the program, to allow your web visitors to use it. If you want to skip the splash page entirely and skip right into the program, link to syndicate.cgi?frameset=1
