Login Accounts

Article Manager has some advanced user management features which can greatly help you manage your site. The Login Accounts section of Setup Options allows you to create, modify, and delete users of Article Manager. You can also specify which categories each user can access, and for which events they receive email notifications.

The following user types are available:

Administrator
The most powerful account type is the Administrator. Only an Administrator may access the Category Editor, the Setup Options, and the Login Accounts. An administrator has access to all categories, regardless of any settings in the Login Accounts.

Editor
An Editor has full access to the categories you've specified. This user may add, modify, and erase any articles in the category.

Trusted Writers
Trusted Writers may add their own articles to the categories they have access to, and may modify or delete them later. This user can only see articles that they've created.

Writer
A Writer may only submit articles, and cannot modify or delete them. Any articles written by Writers are marked as 'Pending' in their Status field, these articles will not be published to your website until they are approved by an Editor or an Administrator.

Email Alert

You can choose to have any user receive email notification upon certain article activities, or "events". To do this, the user's email address must be entered into their account, and the mail server must be configured and tested in Setup Options / Server Options. You must also specify what events will notify the user, and what categories they will receive notification for.

A user can be notified when articles are created, published, modified, or erased.

Category Access

The user may only access categories that have been checked. Regardless of these settings, if the user is an Administrator, they will have access to all categories.
